  • Beautiful graveyard on a quiet wooded hill looking down on Oil City from across the river. There is a rich history of families buried here, many executives from America's original oil companies, with mausoleums dating back to the late 19th century. All my ancestors, who immigrated to Oil City from England, are buried here together, from my mother back to my great grandfather. I haven't returned here since my mother's funeral in December, 2011, at Christ Episcopal Church in Oil City. I plan to return and see her headstone, but I live far away and haven't been able to yet. I hold this cemetery in my heart always. It is sacred ground to me.
